About the event
This workout was first released by CrossFit on August 18, 2005. Originally called "Body Armor," it was one of the favorite workouts of Navy Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in August 2005. It was later renamed "MURPH" in his honor. It takes place every year at the end of May in all CrossFit boxes worldwide.
